Our primary commitment is to improve the health of those living in Ottawa County by educating community members about the serious health risks of tobacco and secondhand smoke. SFO's mission is to create a healthier community through tobacco-free living!

2009 Smoke-Free Ottawa Video Competition Thanks to all the participating schools this year's competition was a lot of fun! The top three teams were awarded a $1000 prize for their school, and the students on the teams received a $50 Rivertown Crossings' gift card. Additionally, each school that entered a video will receive $100 for participating, and each student involved in a video, on-screen and behind-the-scenes, will receive a free movie pass. The top three videos will also be played before every movie at the Holland 7, Holland Star and Grand Haven 9 theaters throughtout the summer sharing the teen to teen smoke free message.
Start dates will be as follows:
Careerline Tech Center: June 12
Central High School: July 17
Coopersville High School: August 21

CHOOSE (Communities Helping Ottawa Obtain a Safe (alcohol) Environment) is a group of community leaders who have formed a coalition and three taskforces to minimize the impact of drinking and driving as well as underage possessions and use of alcohol.
